Nevada Democratic Caucus Guide
The Nevada Democratic Caucuses take place on Saturday, February 22 and all Nevada voters may participate. While these are closed caucuses, participants may change their registration to Democratic on the day of the vote right at their caucus location. Be sure to arrive before the process begins at 12PM (noon).
Can I vote early?
Yes! Early voting is an option from February 15 through February 18. The process is somewhat different for early participants, so be sure to check the Nevada State Democratic Party’s page on early voting for more information.
Can I participate even if I’m not a registered Democrat?
If you are not yet registered as a Democrat, don’t worry! You can update your party affiliation right at the caucus location!
What is a caucus? How is it different from a primary?
The caucus process is quite different than a primary election. Voters gather into groups based on which candidate they support. If that candidate doesn’t reach “viability,” or a minimum of 15% support, voters can then choose to lend their support to a different candidate or to remain uncommitted.
More detailed information on the caucus process is available here.
I have other questions about the process. Can you help?
